Here is one of the most common Restoration Problems, worn seats! Although Mine were not all that bad when I got the car, This is how the seat looked about 2 1/2 years later (Aug 1996). The only proper restoration here is to have the seats completly re-upholstered. The rear seat (split fold) is in great shape and wont need any work, just a little cleenup.

Here is Probably the second most common restoration problem, a Cracked Dash Pad. The original to my car was cracked extremely bad, the one pictured here is from a junkyard in Jacksonville Florida, I paid only $3.00 for it ! Even though it is cracked in the middle, it's otherwise flawless and carried the correct part # (See the Parts page). Until I buy a new one, this will have to do, new ones from ford are over $400 ! And are only available in grey, so one would have to die/paint it.

And here is the 3rd most common restoration problem, a really torn up piece of carpet. I was able to secure a MINT condition set of Factory Carpet pieces (Front and Hatch area) from a fellow who Drag races his Anniversary Car. After market sources (see the PARTS page) have good moulded carpet for this car and price around $100 for the main piece and around $65 for the hatch area piece.

Here is a view of the passenger side door panel. The more common problem here is the "tearing" of the vinyl around the door handle mounting holes. What happens is when a passenger closes the door and pulls too hard, somtimes the handle comes off, and if any of the vinyl was pinched between the panel and the handle, it gets ripped. I have replaced my panel with an identical one from a parts car I owned for a while. I retained my old panel as it is otherwise flawless and may be of use to another persons restoration. Thre rip on my old panel is small enough to hide behind the handle. Also notice the incorrect chrome Power lock switch, Correct units have a black bezel and black switch.

Here is the new carpet for the interior. This is Factory carpet, not an aftermarket piece. (April 1997)
