This is what the engine looked like just after I purchased the car. I purchased it in April 1994. My original engine Number is supposed to be 4G975AA, I havent checked yet to see if the number on my Engine Tag Matches yet.

Here is a cool photo of Fords 1984 demo 2.3 litre Turbo engine. This is the engine for the SVO Mustang. The Turbo anniversary Mustangs have the same engine but no intercooler. In 1985 the SVO engine recieved minor modifications that basically increased the horsepower from 175hp in 1984 to as much as 205hp.

This is the borg Warner T-5 5 Speed Transmission. Even though this one looks like the factory unit for the 2.3 litre turbo Anniversary Mustang, it is actually an SVO unit! I Swapped out my original for this one because the 1984 SVO T-5's were outfitted with much better internal gear ratios. My original Transmission was jammed into 2 gears at once and needed complete rebuilding wich would have cost around $600 - $700! this SVO T-5 was a bargain from a salvage yard. I only paid $100 for it and it is in tip top condition, the SVO it came from only had 32k miles on it!

The SVO T-5 Transmission was equipped from the factory with a Hurst Shifter!
You can tell the husrt equippped units by looking for the Hurst logo on the shifter cover plate.
