Here is a common problem most 12 year old steering wheels have, peeling/cracking
Speed Control buttons. Replacement is the only proper cure. The "plastic"
Chrome can be peeled off completly and painted with silver paint but this
usually rubs off over time and isnt worth the effort.

Another Common Problem is the "missing" Ford globe on the steering wheel.
(on cars equipped with cruise control) Anniversary models that were not
equipped with "Cruise" came with a leather wrapped steering wheel
similer to the SVO mustang steering wheel. I have
not yet seen any anniversary mustangs with a steering wheel like the one
pictured, but with out Cruise Control buttons. If you have the ford globe,
and the "Blue" parts of it are intact, you can re-glue it in
place, or they can be found in junkyards, but it is best to find a good
one and just replace the "Center Horn" piece unless you really
need a better steering wheel.
